Marlee, a bright and compassionate soul, left this world on April 24, 2026, at the tender age of 18. Born on July 17, 2007, in Opelousas, Marlee was a young woman whose loving nature and kind spirit touched everyone who knew her. Throughout her life, she was deeply cherished by her family and friends, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Marlee’s vibrant personality was marked by her immense creativity and a zest for life that was evident in every endeavor she undertook. A natural leader, she served as the Robotics Captain at Northwest High School for three years, showcasing not only her technical skills but also her ability to inspire and bring out the best in her teammates. Her loving free spirit was paired with an artistic talent that allowed her to explore and express her creative mind through various forms of art. Additionally, Marlee found great joy in music and attending concerts, a passion that enriched her life and brought her immense happiness.
Beyond her many talents and interests, she was an extremely skilled make up artist and hair stylist. She planned on attending Cosmetology School. Marlee had a special place in her heart for children and cats, embodying a genuine kindness that made her beloved by all who encountered her.
Marlee is survived by her devoted parents, Mikeal and Joan Norse of Opelousas, who were her unwavering support and greatest admirers. She also leaves behind her maternal grandparents, Sheryl and Merrick "Noonie" Gautreaux, of Opelousas, and her paternal grandmother, Betty Norris of New Iberia, who provided her with love and guidance throughout her life. Marlee’s brothers, Sebastian, Christian, and Julian Norse, all of Opelousas, remember her as a cherished sister, and her niece, Elizabeth Norse of Opelousas, will forever carry the warmth of her aunt's love. Her boyfriend, Hunter Wall of West Monroe, shared in her dreams and passions, cherishing the time they spent together.
Marlee was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Dennis Norris, Sr., whose memory lives on in the family, and her dear sister, Miya Norse, whose loss is deeply felt.
Her presence was a profound blessing to all who knew her, and though her life was all too brief, the impact she made is lasting. Marlee Claire Norse will be mourned deeply and remembered with great respect as a loving daughter, sister, friend, and an extraordinarily kind person whose spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Pallbearers will be Sebastian, Christian, Julian Norse, Aaron, Andre, Ian Woodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Merick Harman and Jimmy Stelly.
