Margaret M. Smith, a beloved daughter, sister, dedicated nurse, and treasured friend, departed this life on September 18, 2025, at her residence in Opelousas, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on February 14, 1970, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Margaret brought joy and warmth to the lives of everyone she encountered with her unwavering compassion and nurturing spirit.

Throughout her remarkable career, Margaret worked tirelessly as a supervisor trained manager/nurse, dedicating herself to the care of those in need. Her heart truly belonged to the Blood Center in New Orleans, where she devoted over 25 years. Additionally, Margaret’s commitment to elder care saw her grace in various nursing homes and psychiatric wards, always approaching her work with the utmost dedication and love. Her culinary talents also shone brightly in her kitchen; she reveled in baking and cooking, often bringing families and friends together around the table with her delicious creations.
