Mae Beulah Breaux

Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mae Beulah Theriot Breaux on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mae Beulah, age 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Mae Beulah loved spending time outside working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cross-stitching. Mae Beulah was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mae Beulah is survived by her daughters, Wanda Bower (Gerald) of Baton Rouge, Judith Doucet of Port Barre, Carolyn Stelly (Lionel) of Moss Bluff, and Bobbie Womack of Opelousas; 11 grandchildren, Brian Bower (Tricia), Cynthia Soileau (John), Robert Stelly (Pamela), Harry Doucet (Shaunta), Monique Durio (Walter), John Womack III, Jonathan Stelly (Audrey), Melissa Armond (Shane), Nicole Womack, Amy Smith (Robby) and Benjamin Doucet (Whitney);31 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Mildred Franchebois of Opelousas.

Mae Beulah is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Breaux; parents, Octave Theriot and Mary Fontenot Theriot; sister, Ruby Pitre; brother, Paul A. Theriot; grandson, John Robert Womack; brothers-in-law, Leo Franchebois and Paul Pitre; sister-in-law, Alice Theriot; sons-in-law, John Womack II and Edward Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Mitch Hebert. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Brian Bower, Robert Stelly, Jonathan Stelly, Harry Doucet, Benjamin Doucet, and John Womack III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Bower and Lionel Stelly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LA Hospice and Palliative Care.
