Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Madoila Carmouche on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Grand Coteau. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
Mrs. Carmouche, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the age of 86, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Madolia retired from the St. Landry Parish School Board after 22 years of service. She loved spending time with family and cooking for them as well. Madolia loved walking not only for exercise but to enjoy the outdoors. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Terry Carmouche of Opelousas; three brothers, Felton Leday (Carolyn) of Lawtell, Ashton Leday (Ann) of Houston, TX and Morris Leday (Nancy) of Opelousas; seven sisters, Juanita Rene (Joseph) Opelousas, Anna Lee Doucet (Arthur) Opelousas, Enolia Guillory (Irvin) of Houston, TX, Anna Bell Reed (Hillary) of Lawtell, Patty Batiste of Carencro, Priscilla Leday of Carencro and Merlie Leday of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Lillian Leday; grandchildren, Shamonica Jones (John) of Katy TX, Tamela Pierre (Terrel) of Katy, TX, Reginald Simpson (Bridgette) of Duson, Shaun Prejean (Tamika) of Dallas and Travis Lewis (Tameka) of Opelousas; great-grandchildren, Deonte, Armoni, Brooklyn, Autumn, Terrel Pierre, Jr., Angel, Seth, Calab, Kelsey, Kennedy, Landyn, Abel, Brook and Markael; god-children, Edward Rene, Patty Batiste and Marie Goode.
Madolia is preceded in death by her husband, Colbert Carmouche; parents, Moise and Mildred Leday; two sisters, Lucille Joubert and Janice Chavis; and two brothers, Joseph Leday and John Burley Leday.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. by Deacon Darrell Burleigh.

The family will not have a repass after services due to Covid-19.
