Lucy "MeMe" Doucet Courville, was born on October 4, 1939, in the quaint town of Ville Platte, Louisiana. She departed this world on November 5, 2024, at the Opelousas General Health System, leaving behind a legacy as colorful and intricate as the crocheted pieces she lovingly crafted.
Lucy's passions were as vibrant as the hues on her brush. A painter at heart, she poured her emotions onto canvas, capturing a world full of beauty and wonder. Her love for crossword puzzles and crocheting was a delightful dance of the mind and hands, each stitch and solved puzzle a testament to her tenacious spirit and playful intellect.
In a time when family bonds were to be cherished and nurtured, Lucy embodied the very essence of a devoted homemaker. With unwavering love, she created a sanctuary for her family, where laughter echoed in every corner and memories were stitched into the hearts of those she held dear. As we reflect on her journey, we remember a woman who was deeply connected to her roots and the family she raised. Her proudest accomplishments were not measured in accolades but in the moments spent by the side of her loved ones. In every gathering, whether big or small, Lucy shone as the heart of the celebration, her laughter an invitation to joy and togetherness.
Lucy is survived by her sons, Ronny Courville and wife Stacey, Kenneth Courville and wife Susan, Fred Courville and wife Becky; grandchildren, Christopher Courville, Scott Courville, Dylan Courville, Devon Courville, Kelly Lindig, Skye Courville and Joey Courville.
Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Courville; her son, Timmy Courville; and her parents, Alcee and Marita Doucet.
Lucy’s passing marks the closing of a vibrant chapter, yet her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of her family. MeMe, as she was affectionately known, taught us that home is not just a place but a feeling—one forged through love, creativity, and shared experiences.
