Lucien Richard, Jr., a loving father, grandfather, great-grand father, and brother, passed away on February 2, 2024, at his home in Arnaudville. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones during his final moments. Lucien was born on May 25, 1953, in Opelousas.

Lucien's life will be celebrated through a series of services at the Sibille Funeral Home located at 2309 George Drive in Opelousas. The visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on February 5, 2024. A prayer service will follow at 2:30 pm. The funeral service will be held from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and the burial will take place afterwards from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Lucien brought joy and laughter to the lives of all who knew him. He had a passion for dancing and listening to music, especially his all-time favorite song "Tee Nah Nah." Lucien cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating cherished memories that they will hold onto forever. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and the TV show Law and Order.

Lucien Richard, Jr. is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Fontenot Richard Lucien Richard, Sr and Alida Courville, grandson Devon Richard, sisters, Mary Ann hardy, and Deeanna Guidroz, brother David Richard,

His memory will live on through his son Lucien Richard III (Amy), daughters Melissa Taylor (Carrol), Kevin; Debra Guidroz (Paul Wayne), and Christina Arnold (Ron). He was a proud grandfather to Brian (Chelsey), Jared (Brittany), Shelbie (Ace), Heidi (Seth), Chelsie (Dora) Jewelee (Patrick), A.J. (Girlfriend Ale), Christopher, Andre, Melanie, Colby, and Lucien. Additionally, he adored his great-grandchildren Lethen, Payton, Jettsen, Jagger, Adaline, Madison, Delilah, Anakin, Emerie, Paisley, Preston, Liam, Patrick, Violet, Nathan, and Kayden.

In addition to his immediate family members, Lucien leaves behind a host of godchildren, nieces and nephews who were dear to him. He shared a special bond with his brothers John Richard (Monica) of Maurice, Tommy Richard (Brenda) of Sunset, Dale Richard (Belinda) of Breaux Bridge and sister Diane Richard of New Iberia. They will hold onto memories of their time spent together.

Lucien Richard's cheerful demeanor and warm personality touched the lives of many. His unconditional love for his family and friends will always be remembered. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. Lucien will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Pallbearers will be Brian Coody, Jared Coody, Christopher Richard, Colby Richard, Lucien Richard, A. j. Arnold, Andre Richard and Ace Morvant. Honorary pallbearer will be Seth Sweeney and Patrick Martin.
