Lorita Richard
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Lorita Richard, 75, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Catholic Church in Lewisburg. Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery.
Fr. Blair will conduct the services.
Mrs. Richard, a native Lewisburg and resident of Opelousas, died at 5:00 a.m. at Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas on Sunday, February 25, 2007. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Catholic Church. She was a loving and cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She cared for two of her grandchildren, Lance and Emma.
Survivors include three daughters: Theresa Wyble and husband, Jimmy of LeBeau; Peggy Guidroz of Opelousas; Janet Fontenot and fianc, Danny Lanthier of Opelousas; three brothers: Linus Richard and wife, Deanny of Church Point; Lionel Richard and wife, Audrey of Mississippi; and Thomas Richard, Jr. and wife, Patsy of Rayne; two sisters: Marie Guilbeaux and husband, Lloyd of Abbeville; and Faye Mire and husband, Daniel of Scott; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lorita was preceded in death by her two sons: Roland Castille and Raymond Castille; one granddaughter, Dana Boudreaux; parents, Thomas Richard, Sr. and Doris Vasseur Richard; one brother, Raymond Richard; one sister, Eurella Lavergne; and one son-in-law, Jymme Guidroz.
Pallbearers will be B. J. Boudreaux, Danny Lanthier, Heath Boudreaux, Gary Richard, Raymond Castille, Jr., Shane Fontenot, and Lance Fontenot.
Visiting hours will be observed from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
