Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for Loria Prudhomme on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Allan Myers will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville.

Loria Mae Prudhomme, a beloved home maker, passed away on December 9, 2023, at the Villa Feliciana Nursing Home. She was born on June 25, 1937, in Krotz Springs. Loria will always be remembered as a very loving and caring person who touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. 

In her career as a homemaker, Loria found great joy and fulfillment in taking care of her family. Her nurturing nature and selflessness were evident in every aspect of her life. Loria dedicated herself wholeheartedly to creating a warm and loving home for her loved ones.

Outside of her role as a caregiver, Loria had various hobbies and interests that brought her immense happiness. She loved tending to her beautiful flower beds, where she would spend countless hours planting and nurturing vibrant blooms. Crafting was another passion of hers, as she possessed a talent for creating intricate handmade pieces that showcased her creativity.

One of Loria's true joys in life was making holiday candy. Whether it was Christmas fudge or Easter chocolates, she poured love into each delicious treat she crafted. Sharing these sweets with family and friends brought her immense satisfaction, and it became a cherished tradition for those lucky enough to receive them.

Above all else, Loria cherished spending time with her family. Gathering with loved ones brought her immeasurable happiness and created lasting memories. Her presence at family gatherings was always filled with love and warmth. The bond she shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews was truly special.

Loria Mae Prudhomme is reunited in eternal peace with her parents Ernest and Mary Orgeron; first husband Milton Thibodeaux; second husband Calvin Joseph Prudhomme; son Terry Paul Thibodeaux; daughter Jeanette Marie Thibodeaux; sisters Mary Fitzgerald and Jeanette Orgeron; and brothers Lawrence Orgeron, Ernest Orgeron, and James Orgeron. Their memories will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved them.

She is survived by her sister Martha Perry (Phil) of Leonville; half-sisters Marie Hutchins (Ed) of Port Barre, Mary Ann Matt of Port Barre, and Patricia Ezell of Bude, Mississippi; grandchildren Loria Huval (Kenny) of Kaplan, Anthony Saucier (Natashia) of Winnsboro, Ty Thibodeaux (Whitney) of Clinton, and Jenna Watts (Michael) of Gloster, Mississippi; ten great-grandchildren; Terry Huval, Kenny J. Huval, Aaron Huval, Logan Huval, Savannah Thibodeaux, Colin Saucier, John Waylon Arnold, Dallas Arnold, Landon Watts, and Adam Watts, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Loria's legacy will live on through the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. Her impact on the lives she touched will continue to be felt for generations to come.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

 Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, December 16, 2023, visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
