Opelousas-- A graveside service will be held for Lloyd Joseph Dupuis, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in the Mission of St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Palmetto, LA. Fr. Stephen Ugwu will conduct the service.
Lloyd Joseph Dupuis, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on July 27, 1949, in Palmetto, Louisiana, and lived a life dedicated to his family and his work as an iron worker for Exxon and Brown & Root Company.
Lloyd was known for his strong work ethic, which became a foundation of his character, providing not only for his family but also serving as a model of integrity and commitment to those around him. In addition to his professional achievements, he cherished his time spent outdoors, engaging in hobbies such as hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him joy and kept him connected to the land and community he loved.
He is survived by his daughter, Chandra Dupuis of Palmetto, and his son, Randal Dupuis (Regina) of Krotz Springs. Lloyd's legacy continues with his grandchildren, Kristin, Sammy, Jr., Brittany, Jeffery, and Randal, Jr., as well as his twelve great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his spirit and memory. He is also mourned by his brothers, Forest Dupuis (Delilah) and Charles Dupuis (Maryland), all of Berwick, and his sisters, Jeanette Driskill of Berwick, Gayle Falgout of Bayou Vista and Beverly Driskill (Henry) of Opelousas. Furthermore, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were blessed to know him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Credeur Dupuis, his parents, Francis and Etra Soileau Dupuis, and his brothers, Vorest Dupuis and Leroy Dupuis, brother in law, Pee Wee Diskill. He also grieves the loss of his great-grandchild, Peyton Ducote, whose memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family.
Lloyd Joseph Dupuis's life was filled with love and dedication, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His strength, kindness, and steadfast spirit will be remembered and celebrated through the stories shared and the lives he touched throughout his years.
