Linda Faye Rutledge, a cherished homemaker and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at Opelousas General Health System. Born on January 10, 1950, in Ville Platte, Linda’s life was marked by her deep love for her family and her unwavering dedication to nurturing those around her.

Linda was a very loving and caring person whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Her talents were many—she was a master home baker who delighted in feeding people, and she found joy in crocheting beautiful pieces that brought comfort and cheer to friends and family alike. Linda also loved to travel, exploring new places and creating lasting memories, and she took special pride in the vibrant flowers that bloomed in her yard, which reflected her nurturing spirit and appreciation for beauty.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Rutledge of Opelousas, whose steadfast partnership and devotion were a cornerstone of her life. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Dawson Rabalais of Opelousas, Michael Shane Reaux of New Iberia,  Amy Williams Duvall (whose husband is Andy Duvall) of Melville. Also the late Patasha Adams. Linda’s legacy of love lives on in her grandchildren—Madeline Adams, Alyson Duval, Jacob Duval and his wife Mariah, John Prince Adams, Lillian Duval, and Weston Duval—who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Kendyl Grace Stone and Lyndie Kate Stone, whose laughter and presence were sources of great happiness. Linda’s family circle extends further to include a host of nieces and nephews who remember her fondly.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Agnes Ledoux, whose guidance shaped her early years. She was also preceded by her dear daughter, Patasha Adams, her brother James Ray Ledoux, and sister Juanita Ledoux, whose memories she held close to her heart.

The life of Linda Faye Rutledge was one of devotion, compassion, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love and grace that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends, whose lives she enriched with every act of kindness and every shared moment.

Pallbearers will be Andy Duvall, Jacob Duvall, Weston Duvall, Lawerence Williams, Cody Rabalais and Michael Shane Reaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Rabalais and Mark Bihm.
