Lester Richard, Jr.

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lester Richard, Jr. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass.

Lester, age 52, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Our Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette. He enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints and the Baltimore Ravens. Lester also loved listening to music. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Judy R. Schexneider and husband, Russell of Port Barre and Linda R. Bellard and her companion, Jodie Guidry of Port Barre; nephews, Christopher Schexneider and wife, Jamie of Port Barre and Derrick Martin Bellard of Port Barre; nieces, Ashley A. Bellard of Port Barre and Rebecca Lewis and husband, Eric of Kentucky; and his friend, Ronald Begeron, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Joseph Richard, Sr. and Mary Merline Richard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. A Rosary Service will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
