Laurent Adam Thibodeaux, Jr., born on August 16, 1956, in Opelousas, Louisiana, left this world on October 17, 2025, at Lafayette General Health System. He was a man defined not just by his profession, but by the love he poured into his family.
For the majority of his life, Laurent dedicated himself to being a truck driver, working with BFI, Waste Management, and Enterprise. He approached each mile with dedication and pride, embodying the spirit of hard work in a career that not only supported his family but also provided him with the opportunity to see the world.
Outside of his professional life, Laurent found happiness in the simple things—playing on the computer which served both as a mode of entertainment and a connection to the world beyond. He cherished the precious moments spent with his beloved grandchildren, whose laughter and curiosity brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Laurent's passions extended beyond family; he had a zest for life that found him at car shows, where his love for classic cars and their timeless beauty was evident. He took pride in working on these vehicles, pouring his skill and knowledge into each restoration. He could often be found watching the spirited clashes of fighting roosters, a hobby that fueled his competitive spirit.
Laurent is survived by his sons, Russel Thibodeaux and wife Tiffany, Laurent Thibodeaux III and fiancé Brittany Schexnayder; daughters, Amanda Thibodeaux and husband Brandon Estilette, April Fuselier and husband Hunter; brother, Randy Thibodeaux; sisters, Kathy Schexnayder and husband Darren, Christine Schexnayder and husband Clayton, Marie Prejean and husband Lee; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Laurent is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Poirier Thibodeaux; parents, Laurent Thibodeaux, Sr. and Delta Trahan Thibodeaux; and brother, Dale Thibodeaux.
As we remember Laurent Adam Thibodeaux, Jr., let us celebrate the life he led—a tapestry woven with love, joy, and dedication—which will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
