Larry Don Coon

Opelousas-Funeral services for Larry Don Coon, age 53, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. Pete Smith will officiate the services.

Larry was a native and life-long resident of Opelousas. He died on Sunday, September 13, 2009, in Opelousas due to an automobile accident. He was a truck driver for many years. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a loving father and brother.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Dorothy Wisham Coon of Opelousas; one daughter, Sadie Barnes of Sulphur; three brothers: Clarence Wayne Coon and wife, Josie of Pasadena, Maryland; Danny Lee Coon of Zachary; and Sammy Lynn Coon and wife, Darlene of Opelousas; one sister, Carolyn C. Fontenot and husband, Johnny of Opelousas; two nieces: Meghan Fontenot who was also his godchild and Jessica Coon; four nephews: Corey Stears, Cliff Soileau, Donny Soileau, and Joshua Coon; and one great-nephew, Ayden Coon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Q. Coon; and one sister, Myrt Soileau.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
