Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for Kerry Cardinale on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Pastor Vinson Tullos will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville. Visitation will be held on Saturday in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Kerry Cardinale, born on May 28, 1960, in New Orleans, LA, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was 66 years old.

Kerry served honorably in the United States Navy, embodying the values of courage and integrity that would distinguish his character in the years that followed. During his lifetime, Kerry was known for his unwavering kindness and caring nature. A man deeply devoted to his loved ones, he cherished every moment spent with his grandkids. Kerry found immense joy in cooking for family and friends, creating meals that brought everyone together around the table. His green thumb was evident in the care and pride he took in his garden, which he considered a place of peace and reflection.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne Cardinale; daughters, Nicole Mogeman (Michael) and Chawntelle Willingham (Kevin); sisters, Kim Darbonne (Dwain) and Karen Devillier (Ricky); 4 grandchildren, Kade Gil, Marlie Gil, Kate Willingham and Hope Willingham.

Kerry Cardinale's memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the family traditions, recipes, and gardens he so lovingly cultivated.
