Opelousas - A Memorial Service for, Kenneth Joseph Leger, will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, visiting hours will beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kenneth, age 55, a resident of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at his residence. Kenneth will be remembered as a person who had a heart of gold and loved life. His many hobbies included cooking, hunting and fishing. Kenneth savored every moment spent with his family and friends but mostly so his grandchildren. He loved taking them on various outings to the museum and library. He was considered a history and science buff who enjoyed learning new things. Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Olivia Leger and her brother, Jordan Richard; his mother, Mildred Bertrand Leger; the mother of his child, Tanya Lafleur; his brothers, Ronald Leger and wife, Jackie, Donald Leger and wife, Venitta, Gerald Leger and Andrew Leger; his sisters, Mary Richard and husband, Scott and Catherine Carriere and husband, Roger; 3 grandchildren, William Walton IV, Ethan Richard and Nathan Richard, and his special friend, Jane Breaux.

He is preceded in death by his father, Norris Leger.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to deter funeral expenses.
