Justine Elder

Opelousas -A Mass of Christian Burial for Justine Mabel Lalonde Elder will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Celebrant of Mass a dear friend of the family Fr. Michael Russo with con-celebrant priest Abbott James Liprie, also Fr. Cedric Sonnier and Fr. Paul Broussard, will conduct the Mass. Interment will follow at the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.

Mrs. Justine, age 79, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital.
Mrs. Justine was Co-Founder & Owner of Roy Elder Lumber Company since 1986 with her husband Roy, Justine was the bookkeeper for their Lumber Company and also for the department of Agriculture Sweet Potatoes Industry. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Mr. Roy O. Elder of Opelousas, her daughters, Gina E. Betts and her husband, Ken of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Tuminello and her husband Al of Lafayette, grandchildren, Al Tuminello, Jr., Ashley M. Tuminello Rocca, Natalie Tuminello, Jack Betts, and Logan Betts, great-grandchildren, JoAnn Berzas and Demetri Tuminello.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruby Lalonde.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and reopen on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. until time for service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by the Catholic Daughter on Monday evening in the funeral home chapel.
