Junelle Theresa Devillier

PORT BARRE- A Funeral Service will be held for Junelle Theresa Devillier on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Port Barre. Pastor Benji Richard will conduct the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Junelle Theresa Devillier, a cherished soul born on June 11, 1939, in Washington Louisiana, departed this earthly world, on October 21, 2024 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home. She graced the world with her warmth, creativity, and zest for life that touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her love for reading transported her to realms beyond the ordinary, where she could lose herself in the pages of adventure. With skillful hands, she mastered the art of crocheting and sewing, creating tangible pieces of warmth that graced the homes of friends and family alike. Each stitch woven with love told its own story, a reflection of her generous spirit and careful attention to detail.

In the glow of her laughter, one could find Junelle at the local casino, relishing the thrill of games. Or perhaps at bingo night, where the hall would echo with joy as she cheered on friends, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie that was pure to her heart.

Junelle is survived by her sons, Dwain Grimmett and wife Bonnie of Leonville, Marty Grimmett of Port Barre, Reggie Grimmett and wife Lisa of Port Barre; brothers, Wallace Devillier of Washington, Bobby Devillier and wife Lynn of Opelousas, and Donald Devillier of Opelousas; grandchildren, Chase Grimmett and fiancé Erin Carriere, Mamie Mistric and husband Carlos, Brittany Grimmett, Brandy Boudreaux and husband Joey, Amanda Grimmett, Brianna Brock, Chelsea Stelly and husband Johnathan, Hollie Smith and husband Hunter; great-grandchildren, Trey Mistric and wife Alexis, Recca Mistric, Harper Landry, Camille Boudreaux, Chandler Boudreaux, Jayden Ardoin, Adam Barron, Mason Barron, Maddox Savoy, Amalee Stelly, Copper Stelly, Bella Stelly, Preston Stelly, Jade Smith, Jake Smith, Kadence Grimmett and Zayne Mire. 

Junelle is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Devillier; her parents, Oliday and Gladys Devillier; her grandson, Jacob Benjamin Grimmett; and her niece, Mamie Devillier.

Pallbearers will be Trey Mistric, Adam Barron, Carlos Mistric, Reggie Grimmett, Dwain Grimmett and Chase Grimmett.

In the memories shared and the lives she touched, Junelle Theresa Devillier lives on, her legacy a tapestry interwoven with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
