Juanita, a devoted homemaker and a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at her home in Melville, Louisiana. Born on November 10, 1954, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Juanita’s life was marked by a deep devotion to her family and a warm spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Throughout her life, Juanita was known for being honest, solid, dependable, hilarious, strong and loving. She lived life on her own terms, right, wrong, or indifferent. Never apologized for being exactly who she was. She was full of life, full of character and marched to the beat of her own drum.

Juanita is survived by her devoted daughter, Amy Duvall, and her husband, Andy, of Melville; son, Lawrence Williams, and his wife, Brandi, of Palmetto; and her sister, Linda Rutledge, along with her husband, Kenneth, of Opelousas. Her legacy includes a vibrant family of grandchildren who were a constant source of joy: Madeleine Adams; Alyson Stone and her husband, Brett; Jacob Duvall and his wife, Mariyah; John Prince Adams; Lillian Duvall; Weston Duvall; Gunner Stanford; and Layla Stanford. The love she sowed extends into the next generation through her great-grandchildren, Kendyl Stone and Lyndie Kate Stone, who carried forward her spirit. Among her extended family, she also leaves behind nephews Kevin Ledoux and his wife, Beth, of Brusly, Louisiana.

Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jimmy and Agnes Ledoux, and her brother, James Ray Ledoux. Their memories will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for those who knew Juanita throughout her life.

We are going to miss her deeply her laugh, her voice, her advice, her random comments and probably even her fussing, She believed in doing right, working hard, telling the truth and trusting God with the rest. Her presence, strength and spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew and loved her.
