Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joycelyn Foret Lee on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, with the burial to follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
Joycelyn Lee, a beloved school teacher known for her dedication and kindness, passed away on May 24, 2024, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was born on March 15, 1936, in Ville Platte, LA.
Joycelyn was a graduate with her master's degree and devoted her life to shaping young minds as an educator. Her career as a school teacher was marked by her passion for nurturing her students and helping them reach their full potential. Her impact on countless lives through her work in the classroom will be remembered and cherished by many.
Those who knew Joycelyn recognized her as a very loving and caring person. Her warm personality radiated kindness and touched the hearts of all who crossed her path. Beyond her professional life, Joycelyn found joy in traveling every summer with her Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority group, exploring different destinations throughout the United States.
Joycelyn is survived by her sons, Kent Soileau (Mandy), Greg Soileau (Mary), David Soileau (Kristi), daughter Sandy Jarrell (Charles), grandchildren Charlie Jarrell (Ashley), Jaime Olinde (Travis), Caroline Jarrell, (Trevor Purvis), Paul Soileau (Allie), Chase Soileau, Ethan Soileau, Tiffani Babineaux (Jared), Jeremy Stelly (Yvette), and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Orise E. and Adile Pitre Foret, brothers Huey Foret, Harold Foret, and Byron Foret.
