Joyce LeBlanc Sattler

Joyce LeBlanc Sattler, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023. She was born on September 30, 1930, to Laurence and Eva LeBlanc in Waxia, LA. Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joyce had a passion for sewing and crocheting. She could often be found working on various projects or tending to her beautiful gardens. Her creativity and skill were admired by many, and she took great joy in sharing her work with others.

Joyce's life was marked by love and loss. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah Aucoin, and her second husband, John Sattler. She also mourned the loss of her son Michael Aucoin and cherished parents Laurence and Eva LeBlanc. In addition to these losses, Joyce said goodbye to her brothers Wilton "Pappy" LeBlanc, Edgar LeBlanc and Dudley LeBlanc, as well as her sisters Eva LeBlanc and Ella Louise LeBlanc.

Despite these heartaches, Joyce found strength in the love of her surviving family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters Claudette Fontenot of Opelousas, Lois Velazquez of Opelousas, Elaine Thibodeaux of Rayne, Madeline Bergeron of Church Point; brothers Joe LeBlanc of Opelousas and John Edward LeBlanc of Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Joyce's family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Services to honor Joyce's life will be held at the Sibille Funeral Home located at 2309 George Drive in Opelousas on August 25th, 2023. The visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a prayer service at 2:30 PM. A memorial service will be held at 2:45 PM. The services will conclude at 4:00 PM.

Joyce LeBlanc Sattler touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and creativity. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
