Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Jessie Soileau, age 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Father Austin Leger will officiate the service.

Mr. Soileau was a resident of Opelousas. He died on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his residence. He was a truck driver for many years.

He is survived by two brothers: Wilson Soileau of Port Barre and George Soileau of Mamou; and one sister, Bertha Joubert of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Odile Soileau; his parents: Edovic and Ezorie Soileau; four brothers: Emile, Leo, Roy, and Arville Soileau; and four sisters: Thelma Stears, Hilda Fontenot, Ruby Ortego, and Alice LeBlanc.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas from 12:00 p.m. until 2 p.m.
