Joseph Earl Andrus, 52, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at his lake house in Toledo Bend, Louisiana. Born on June 16, 1973, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, to Leon “Sonny” and Karen Dubroc Andrus. Joseph lived a life marked by dedication to his family, profession, and love of the outdoors.

A 1996 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Joseph began his career offshore with OSCA and Baker Oil Tools before transitioning into sales in Houston. He later worked with HESS Corporation and ultimately found his long-term professional home at Southwestern Energy (SWN) in Spring, Texas. Over 15 years as Completion Engineer Supervisor in Arkansas and Texas, he earned respect for his leadership and technical expertise. His team received multiple nominations and was honored with the 2019 Presidential Award for excellence.

Joseph shared 25 loving years of marriage with his wife, Gigi Devillier Andrus, and together they raised two children: Riley Joseph Andrus and Makenzie Brooke Andrus. He is also remembered by his mother, Karen Dubroc Andrus; his brother Leon Andrus Jr. and wife Allison; and his sister Chrystal Andrus Hidalgo and husband Erin.

He was embraced by a large extended family including brothers-in-law Joseph, Donald and wife Missy, Craig, Mike and wife Elizabeth, and Carl Devillier and wife Tina, and his sister-in-law Tanya Williams and husband Chris.

He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews; Lindsey and Lulu Devillier, Amalee Devillier, Brooke and Nick Morgan, Matthew Williams and fiancé Josi Shores, Ethan Hidalgo and fiancé Emily Carriere, Eli Hidalgo, Jaylon and Adalynn Andrus, Noah, Grace, and David Devillier, and Tara Savoy. He was fondly known as Uncle Joe Joe to his great-nieces and nephews; Aniston, Cruz and Berkley Morgan, Naomi and Logan Devillier, and Zachary Stevens, Ryder, Reese, and Harper Williams.

He was honored to have a special bond with his godchildren Ethan Hidalgo, Adalynn Andrus, and Berkley Morgan.

He will also be greatly missed by several aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him dearly.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father Leon “Sonny” Andrus; paternal grandparents Earl and Ella Andrus and maternal grandparents Joe and Dot Dubroc; in-laws Sonny and Mary Devillier; Uncle Wayne Dubroc; Luke Ragas (cousin), and Dustin Doubet (nephew).

An avid outdoorsman, Joseph found joy in fishing at Toledo Bend Reservoir and hunting at Brushy Bayou Hunting Club where he especially cherished time spent with his brother and lifelong friends—cooking meals and making memories. For the past eleven years, Toledo Bend Reservoir became a second home where he pursued sac-a-lait fishing with unmatched passion. He especially loved his many fishing trips with his brother-in-law's Chris and Carl and looked forward every year to his annual fishing trips with his Good Ole Boys Crew, Jude Robin, Brennan Cropper, Troy Faul, and James Lacombe. Those lucky enough to join him knew to pack plenty of snacks—he wouldn’t leave until the sun went down. He was a devoted fan of the Saints, Astros, and LSU, and enjoyed a wide range of music from Metallica to Merle Haggard.

Pallbearers will be Riley Andrus, Leon Andrus, Jr., Chris Williams, Carl Devillier, Erin Hidalgo, Ethan Hidalgo, Brett Dubroc, and Robbie Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Williams, Eli Hidalgo, and Jaylon Andrus.
