Funeral services for Jimmie J. Henderson, age 69, will be held at

11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the services.

Jimmie was a native and life-long resident of Opelousas. He died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in the Opelousas General Health System. He was a Real Estate Broker and a Pharmacy Technician with Miller Service Drugs for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, and cajun dancing. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Henderson of Opelousas; one son, Greg Henderson, Sr. and wife, Wanda of Opelousas; two daughters: Anita Davis and husband, Rob of Lafayette; and Darlene Henderson of Opelousas; one sister, Thelma Joubert and husband, Reme of Opelousas; six grandchildren: Courtney Savoy, Dana Le, Lauren Savoy, Larick Shawn Babin, Britney Babin, and Greg Henderson, Jr.; two great-grandchildren: De Ju Babin and Avery Napoli.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Henderson and Ethel Stelly Henderson; and one sister, Emily Rose Guillory.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
