Jessie Doucet

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Jessie Mae Doucet, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Jessie, age 81, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Opelousas General Health System. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Jessie enjoyed cooking, baking, telling stories of her child hood and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her famous pancakes and cornbread.

She is survived by children, Harold James Doucet and wife, Cyndi of Port Barre, Narcisse Joseph Doucet, Jr., and wife, Bobbie Jo of Washington, LA., Felicia Doucet Leger and husband, John of Port Barre, and Sheila Doucet Mistric and her husband, Cleve of Washington, LA., brothers, Joseph Young "JY" Lacombe, and James Lee "Jim" Lacombe both of Port Barre, sister, Charlene Fontenot of Grand Prairie, grandchildren, Fabian Leger, Brandi Jackson, Michael Marlow, Chelsie Mistric, Harley Mistric, Emily Doucet, Jake and Alec Gaudet, 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Narcisse Doucet, Sr., son, Joseph Doucet, grandson, Matthew John Leger, parents, Imay Lacombe and Pearl Barron Lacombe and two sisters, and one brother.

The family requests visitation be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be, Harold Doucet, Narcisse Doucet, John Leger, Fabien Leger, Cleve Mistric, Carson Leger, and Cy Leger.
