Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jason Charles Guidroz at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Jason, age 47, a resident of Port Barre, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, August 4, 2019. He enjoyed hunting with his brother Mark, going fishing, doing wood work and working on special projects.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Guidroz of Lafayette; brother, Mark  Edward Guidroz and wife, Deanne of Port Barre; his loving companion, Julie Smith; nieces, Skylar Paige and Raegan Marie Guidroz; nephews, Mathew and Nicholas Aymond; and his extended family, Jessica Fontenot, Melanie Smith, Bobbi Smith, Raphael Smith, Jamie Smith, Gavyn Comeaux, Raelynn Comeaux, Brennan Smith, Alaina Smith, Emily Fontenot and Emoree Franklin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kaaryn Guidroz and Rose Ann Burleigh Guidroz; grandparents, Elie Guidroz and Carita Comeaux Guidroz and Edgar Burleigh, Sr. and Minnie Wyble Burleigh.

Pallbearers will be Mark Edward Guidroz, Peter Briggs, Timmy Lafleur, Clark Roy, Chad Lafleur and Rayfield Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Guidroz, Jean-Louis Guidroz, Mathew Aymond, Nicholas Aymond, Charles Fontenot, Gilman Aguillard and Arthur Lamke.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
