Janet Guidry

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Janet Guidry, on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Reverend Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church mausoleum.

Mrs. Janet, age 73, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at her residence with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Gerard Guidry and wife, Janice of Opelousas, John Guidry and wife, Sherese of Opelousas, James Guidry and wife, Shannon of Opelousas and Jason Guidry of Port Barre; grandchildren, John Blake Guidry, Brandon Guidry, Julia Prudhomme, Johnathon Guidry, Jacob Guidry, Bailey Guidry, Alyssa Guidry, Luke Guidry, Grace Guidry, Ava Guidry and Cloi Guidry; great-grandchildren, Leila Guidry, Holland Higginbotham, Alex Guidry, Grayson Guidry, Noah Guidry and Jessie Lynn Prudhomme.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elexson and Rhoda Janet; and her brothers, Edmond and Charles Janet.

The family requests visitation be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited by Reverend Clint Trahan at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. The funeral home will reopen for visitation on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
