Hubert, a devoted family man and respected individual in the construction business, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at his home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Born on October 13, 1938, in Sunset, Louisiana, Hubert lived a life marked by dedication and a profound love for those closest to him.
Throughout his career, Hubert contributed significantly as a bookkeeper, office manager and administrator where his diligence and commitment were evident. Yet, above all his professional achievements, he was cherished as a very loving and caring man who loved his family and friends with all his heart. His warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Growing up on a farm, his love of plants and gardening gave him joy throughout his life.
Hubert is survived by his beloved children, Michael Blaine Boudreaux of Baton Rouge, Dennis James Boudreaux and his wife, Drucie, of Erath, and Lynn Marie Boudreaux of Lafayette. He is also survived by his sister, Joanna Miller of Lafayette. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Blaine Boudreaux, Julia Armand (Jeremy), Rachel Boudreaux, Alex Boudreaux (Logan), William Boudreaux, Faith Boudreaux, Collin Pitre, and Logan Boudreaux (Hannah). Furthermore, he was a proud great-grandfather to Mikalyn, Kylee, Beau, and Brock.
Hubert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Emily Jeanette Richard Boudreaux, whose memory remains a guiding light for the family. He also mourned the loss of his parents, Rodney and Angel Leger Boudreaux.
The passing of James Hubert Boudreaux is a profound loss to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of love, care, and dedication will endure in the hearts of those he held dear. May he rest in peace.
