James Hubert Boudreaux

Opelousas-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for James Hubert Boudreaux on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 10:00 am in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Bill Miller (nephew) will officiate the Mass.  Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 25, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 pm by Deacon Ulysee Joubert. On Tuesday, morning the the visitation will reopen at 8:00 am until time of Mass. All in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.

Hubert, a devoted family man and respected office manager in the construction business, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at his home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Born on October 13, 1938, in Sunset, Louisiana, James lived a life marked by dedication and a profound love for those closest to him.

Throughout his career, James contributed significantly as an office manager, where his diligence and commitment were evident. Yet, above all his professional achievements, he was cherished as a very loving and caring man who loved his family with all his heart. His warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Growing up on a farm his love of plants and gardening gave him joy throughout his life.

Hubert is survived by his beloved sons, Michael Blaine Boudreaux of Baton Rouge, and Dennis James Boudreaux and his wife, Drucie, of Erath, Louisiana. He also leaves behind his daughter, Lynn Marie Boudreaux of Lafayette, and his sister, Joanna Miller of Lafayette. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Blaine Boudreaux, Julia Armand (Jeremy), Rachel Boudreaux, Alex Boudreaux (Logan), William Boudreaux, Faith Boudreaux, Collin Pitre, and Logan Boudreaux (Hannah). Furthermore, he was a proud great-grandfather to Mikalyn, Kylee, Beau, and Brock.

Hubert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Emily Jeanette Boudreaux, whose memory remains a guiding light for the family. He also mourned the loss of his parents, Rodney and Angel Boudreaux.

The passing of James Hubert Boudreaux is a profound loss to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of love, care, and dedication will endure in the hearts of those he held dear. May he rest in peace.
