PRAIRIE RONDE- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jack Stansbury on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde. Fr. Mark Ledoux will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will follow the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Jack Stansbury, passed away on July 2, 2025, at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital. Born on September 30, 1953, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Jack lived a life dedicated to his family, hard work and the great outdoors.

For over 30 years, Jack contributed his skills as a welder at Contech Engineered Solutions in Eunice. His work was not just a means of livelihood but a testament to his unwavering dedication and craftsmanship.

Outside of his professional life, Jack was an avid outdoorsman who found joy and peace in nature. Resourceful in every aspect of life, he embraced the adventure of hunting and fishing, often transforming his catch into delicious meals that he shared with family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Adam Stansbury of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Amy Stansbury Thibodeaux and husband Brandon of Crowley; brothers, John Stansbury of Lawtell and Jay Stansbury of Ponchatoula; sisters, Jane Arceneaux of Erwinville, Joanna Fontenot of Mamou, Janet Barron of Lawtell, Joyce Pitre of Lawtell and Joan Burton of Papillion, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Ontiveros, Brylee Thibodeaux and Ethan Thibodeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Betty Ledoux Stansbury; and brothers, Joey Stansbury, Jimmy Stansbury and Jerry Stansbury.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.

Jack's unique character and zest for life will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. His legacy, defined by hard work and a love for the outdoors and cooking, leaves a lasting impression on the hearts of his family and friends that he so dearly cherished.
