Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Whaley, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas.

Father Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.

Mrs. Whaley, a native and resident of Opelousas, died at 2:40 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007, at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three nephews: Edward Wyble of Port Allen; Austin and Arthur Wyble, both of Opelousas.

Mrs. Whaley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whaley; one son, Alex Robert Whaley; her parents: Alexie and Bell Budd Lalonde; and one sister, Rita Ortego.

Pallbearers will be Edward Wyble, David Wyble, Joe Stelly, Blaine Stelly, and Warren Whaley.

Visiting hours will be observed from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2007, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
