Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Huey “Paul” Wayne Guillory on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr Clint Trahan will conduct the mass. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, where military honors and police honors will be rendered. 

Wayne, born in Port Barre, LA, was a man of honor and dedication throughout his life. Wayne passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, kindness, and service to others.

Wayne’s commitment to serving his country was reflected in his 21-year tenure with the Louisiana State Police, where he served with Troop I. Upon his retirement with the State Police Wayne served as Chief of Police in Port Barre from 1999-2002. Prior to this, he also dedicated four years of his life to the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972, achieving the rank of CPL. His service did not go unnoticed, as he was a proud member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans organizations.

Outside of his professional and military commitments, Wayne found solace in being a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre. His faith was an integral part of his life and provided him with strength and guidance. Wayne also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gloria Marks Guillory; his daughter, Stacey LeBlanc and husband Doug; his brothers, Edward Guillory and wife Linda, Glenn Guillory and wife Pauline, Ricky Guillory, and Keith Guillory and wife Dana; his sister, Sybil Cole; his sister-in-law, Yvonne Guillory; 3 grandchildren, Philip D. LeBlanc III, Lucas Wayne LeBlanc, Cody Joseph Leblanc; and 1 great-grandchild on the way, Nathan Wayne LeBlanc. 

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Guillory, Sr. and Gladys Richard Guillory; and his brothers, Allen Guillory, Jr. and wife Wanda and Alvin Joseph Guillory; and sister, Joycelyn Johnson and husband Carlton “Turtle”. 

Pallbearers will be Cody LeBlanc, Lucas LeBlanc, Philip LeBlanc, Glen Guillory, Keith Guillory and Lance Johnson. 

In honoring the life and memory of Huey “Paul” Wayne Guillory, we recognize a man who exemplified integrity and selflessness in all that he did. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care and Wayne's nurse, Cicely, for all the love and care shown to Wayne and his family during this difficult time.
