Opelousas--Funeral service will be held for Horace Lee LeJeune at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, by Deacon Dwayne Joubert. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm, until time of service, a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
On Thursday April 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm family and friends are invited to the Estherwood Memorial Cemetery in Estherwood, La. for the burial of Mr. Horace.
Horace, a distinguished veteran, dedicated educator, and accomplished real estate professional, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospice, Carpenter House in Lafayette. Born on March 6, 1938, in Morse, Louisiana, Horace lived a life marked by service, leadership, and devotion to his family and community.
Horace proudly served 23 years in the United States Navy, where he held the roles of Management and Training Instructor and specialized in Photography and Reconnaissance Aircraft systems. His military career took him to numerous Mediterranean and Pacific countries, experiences he cherished and regarded as among his proudest accomplishments. His commitment to his country was profound and lifelong.
Following his military service, Horace continued to excel professionally. He was an esteemed figure in the real estate industry, owning and managing two companies and overseeing seven real estate partnerships. As a management consultant for Century 21 Gold Coast Realty and Century 21 South Texas and Louisiana, he guided 135 offices with expertise in business principles and computer management systems. His leadership extended as Director of Information Systems for Century 21 South Central States, where he supported data analysis, network maintenance, computer training, and phone support for 360 offices across four states. His independent work with Microsoft Access Data Programs further highlighted his technical acumen and dedication to industry advancement.
Horace's educational background was notable. He was an alumnus of Remington College, where he taught business principles, computer repair, and applications, while also serving as a network installer and manager. Additionally, he contributed as an auditor for Technical College Accreditation reviews, exemplifying his commitment to education and professional standards.
Those who knew Horace remember him as a very loving family man who never met a stranger. His warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all whose lives he touched.
Horace is survived by his loving wife, Audra Faye Welch LeJeune; his children Tina LeJeune, Michelle F. Eskind (Darren), Melinda F. Boutte, David A. LeJeune (Gloria), Tabetha A. Delahoussaye (Shelley), Ursula LeJeune, Jessica Bodner, and Brandon Frederick; his siblings Benjamin LeJeune and Elaine Harrington; as well as 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. They carry forward his legacy of love, commitment, and community spirit.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clement LeJeune; mother, Alice Trumps; daughter, Angelina Bernadette Frederick; son, Anthony Lee LeJeune; sisters, Orelia Spell, Pearl LeBlanc, Bertha Menard, and Mary Alice Bouley; and brothers, Clement Joseph and Joseph Clement.
Horace Lee LeJeune's life was a testament to honor, dedication, and love. His contributions to his country, his profession, and his family will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude. May he rest in peace.
