Herman Olivier

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Herman John Olivier, on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Herman, age 54, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Opelousas General Health System. Herman was a member of Brushy Bayou Hunting Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking with his friends, and entertaining with songs and dance.

He is survived by his parents, Rogers and Georgia Olivier of Washington; his children, Damian Benoit and wife, Amy, Sarah Benoit, Trevor Olivier, Kross Olivier and Blayde Olivier all of Port Barre; sister, Romayne Olivier Trahan and husband, Kelly of Denham Springs; his significant other, Janet Melancon; and three grandchildren, Anna Kate Benoit, Rowen Blake Benoit and Rhyen Olivier.

He is preceded in death by his son, Alec Olivier and brother, Kenneth Olivier.

The family requests visitation be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Damian Benoit, Trevor Olivier, Kross Olivier, Blayde Olivier, Jason Arnaud, Robbie Taylor, Nick Trussel, and Jerry Arnaud.
