Harold Venable

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Harold John Venable, on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Mass will be officiated by celebrant, Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen and concelebrant, Reverend Angelo Cremaldi. Rite of Committal will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Harold, age 84, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Elvina Ortego Venable of Opelousas; sons, Roger Venable and wife, Vickie of Terry, MS, Larry Venable and wife, Evelyn of Gulf Shores, AL, and Troy Venable of Opelousas; daughters, Brenda Venable Ortego and husband, David of Opelousas, and Linda Venable May and husband, Garry of Morgan City; brothers, Nolan Venable of Lawtell and Herbert Venable of Opelousas; sister, Jane Folks of Opelousas; grandchildren, Stacey Myers Bearb, Scott Myers, Sean Myers, Lani V. Truxillo, Dustin Venable, Caroline Coffelt, Luke Venable, Callan May, Garry May II, Brock Mayeaux, and Reagan Venable; and great grandchildren, Katie Ann Venable, Dawson Truxillo, Lilli Venable, Ross Coffelt, Harold Venable and Rhett Coffelt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clevan and Rita Venable.

The family requests visitation be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary Service will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
