Obituary

Washington-Funeral service will be held for Gloria Bellow on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 2:15 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 9:00 am till 2:15 pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 2:00 pm.

Gloria, passed away peacefully at her home on July 3, 2026. Born on September 3, 1943, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Mary’s life was rich with the Christian values and traditions that mark her beloved birthplace.

Throughout her eighty-two years, Gloria Bellow lived a life defined by grace, quiet strength, and deep care for those around her.

Gloria's journey took her through life’s many joys and challenges. She remained a constant source of support, wisdom, and love for those fortunate enough to know her. She cherished her home, choosing to spend her final days surrounded by the comfort and memories she had built over a lifetime.

Gloria is survived be her loving husband of 63 years, Gerald Bellow of Washington, La., son Shane Bellow and his wife Anna of Byran Texas, daughters, Melissa Bellow of Lafayette, Melony Davis of Opelousas, and Monica Sheehan and her husband Brandon of Lubbock, Texas, brother, Ray Dupre of Ville Platte, grand children, Kaitlyn Schexnayder (Clint), Claire Sheehan, Collin Sheehan, Alyce Schott (Caleb), James Davis (Rachel), Eris Bellow, Ayden Bellow, and Joe Davis (Zoe), great grandchildren, Rosalyn Franklin, Wyatt Davis, and Simon Davis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olga Fontenot Dupre and Turling E. Dupre her in-laws, Excel and Cliff Bellow, and her son-in-law, Greg Davis.

She was known as the family prayer warrior constantly praying for her children and grandchildren, and who needed prayers. She loved painting, going to craft and garden shows. She also loved flowers and was known for growing her special lady reds plants. She will be remembered for her gentle manner, her dedication to those she loved, and the quiet resilience that saw her through life’s seasons. Gloria’s passing marks the loss of a remarkable woman whose impact will be felt by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.

 She will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
