Mallet– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Glenn D. Guillory on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church of Mallet. Visitation will be held in the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with services to follow. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet.
Glenn, a native of Mallet, entered into eternal rest at the age of 72, on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the Calcutta House with his family by his side. Glenn served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2BSS, Army Commendation Medal-Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ “V” and the Bronze Star Medal Combat Infantry Badge. Glenn will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Glenn is survived by his son, Glenn Guillory II; daughters, Heather Mercadel and husband, Christopher, Melony Dean and husband, Cornell; grandchildren, Malik McClain, Ella Mercadel and Sidney Mercadel; brothers, John Isaac Kerry Guillory, Kirk James Guillory; sisters, Cynthia Guillory Davis, Brenda Guillory Lujan and husband, Jeffery, and Sheila Guillory Thibodeaux.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Guillory and Nolia Simien Guillory; brothers, Stanley Dale Guillory and Ricky George Guillory; sisters, Peggy Ann Guillory Prejean and Yvonne Guillory.
Pallbearers will be Stanley "Dale" Guillory, Jr., Ricky Guillory, John Guillory, Justin Guillory, Brian Douresseaux and Adrian Douresseaux.
