Geraldine Vidrine

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Geraldine Vidrine on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1:30 pm in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Neil Petit will officate the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Landry Mausoleum in Opelousas.

Geraldine Vidrine, a beloved office manager known for her exceptional skills and warm heart, passed away at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Opelousas on April 24, 1943.

Throughout her life, Geraldine touched the lives of many through her dedicated work and her active involvement in her community. She took pride in her career as a Office Manager. Her commitment to her work was truly admirable.

Geraldine will be remembered for her kind and caring personality. She was a member of Come Lord Jesus and Catholic Daughter, demonstrating her strong faith and devotion to helping others. Her loving nature left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Dale Vidrine of Washington, LA., David Scott Vidrine of Washington, La., and daughter Suzette Marie Vidrine of Lafayette. In addition, she is survived by her brother Verbis Sebastian (Elaine) of Lafayette, Marian Sebastian (Barbara) of Baton Rouge, J. C Sebastian (Patricia) of Prairieville, and Jeanita Sebastian (Ronnie) of Pecaniere. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchild, Danielle Vidrine-Crawford (Jake) of Livingston, LA.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Gerdie Sebastian, brothers Roy and Warren Sebastian, and sister Ellen Arnold.

As we say goodbye to Geraldine Vidrine in body, we hold onto the memories of her love and kindness in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace knowing she made the world a brighter place with her presence.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm by Deacon Dwayne Joubert in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. On Thursday, February 29, 2024 the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am until time of service.
