Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Genevieve David Lanclos, known to many as Genevieve will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. Fr. Kenneth Domingue will celebrate the Mass.
She was a longtime resident of Pecaniere, LA. She died on Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 87.
Survivors include two daughters: Theresa Lanclos of Pecaniere and Cecile Lanclos Nugent and husband, Sherman of Port Barre three sons: David Lanclos of Pecaniere Patrick Lanclos and wife, Elaine of Pecaniere and Lionel Lanclos and Sharon of Salem, Oregon grandchildren: Amanda Nugent of Port Barre Tommy Nugent of Lafayette Matt Nugent and wife, Julie of Port Barre Patrick Lanclos, Jr. of Pecaniere and Fred Lanclos of Pecaniere GodChildren: Betty Wheaton, A.J. David, Jr. and Lee David and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Lanclos her parents: Mentor David and Marie Odelia Lanclos David her sister, Marie Savoy her brothers: Adolph, Alcee, Antoine, Homer, Marion, and Leon David.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
A Rosary service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning in the funeral home.
