Garland Young

Opelousas- A funeral service will be held for, Garland "Bubba" Young, Sr., on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 12:00 noon in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Fr. Ted Broussard will conduct the service. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Garland, age 65, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, Garland, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Yvonne Pope Young of Prairie Ronde, his mother, Betty Jo Young of Vidor, Texas, sons, Garland "Joey" Young, Jr. and his fiancé Casie Bennett of Duson, and Christopher Young and his fiance Liza Legrand of Prairie Ronde, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters, Rebecca Kalsen, (Bob) of Houston Texas, Belinda Bryan (Tracy) of Vidor Texas, grandchildren, Elizabeth "Libby" , Ashley Young, (Zack Snider), Chelsey Sherman (Blake), Kailey and Demi Bennett, Austin, Abigail "Abby", and Noah Young, Madison, Tristan, and Nadelyn Legrand., two great grandson, Jace and Holden Sherman.

He is preceded in death by father, Perkins Young.

The family wishes to thank Woodworth First Responders, Rapides Medical Center.

The family requests visitation be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Eulogy will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral home will reopen for visitation on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
