Frances, a beloved and very loving member of her family and community, passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 25, 1939, in Beggs, Louisiana, Frances lived a life filled with compassion, warmth, and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Frances was a devoted mother to her five sons: Leroy Foret, Sr. and his wife Belinda of Dupont, Louisiana; Joseph Foret, Jr. and his wife Donna of Dupont, Louisiana; Gerarld Foret and his wife, Carol Ann of Prairieville, Louisiana; and Darrell Foret and his wife Stephanie of Livonia, Louisiana. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she treasured her siblings—brothers J.C. Meche of Lebeau, Louisiana; Donald Meche of Vidalia, Louisiana; Eddie Meche of Plaucheville, Louisiana; and Phillip Meche of Plauchville, Louisiana, as well as her sisters Eda Mae Turner of Cottonport, Louisiana, and Helen Bordelon of Hemphili, Texas.
A true matriarch, Frances found joy in the presence of her ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, whose lives she enriched with her love and support. Her hobbies, such as sewing, cooking, dancing, and fishing, exemplified her vibrant personality and provided countless cherished moments with her family.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Meche, her devoted husband, Joseph Foret, Sr. and Aristide Mark, her son Michael Brent Foret, and her grandson Justin Paul Foret. Their memories remain a profound part of her legacy, as she carried their love with her throughout her life.
Though she will be deeply missed, Frances Marks leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will comfort her loved ones in their time of sorrow. Her loving spirit and legacy of kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Pallbearers will be Raylon Bordelon, Todd Meche, Leroy Foret, Jr., Tristin Foret, Trampas Foret, Kyle Blanchard, and Payton Willis.
