Evelyn Gaudet

Port Barre - A funeral service for Evelyn LeBlanc Gaudet, 89, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Rick Wolfe will conduct the service. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Evelyn died peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017 Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, crocheting, quilting and reading her bible.

She is survived by her children, Leon Gaudet and his wife, Emma of Port Barre, Monica G. Wolfe and her husband, Dr. Rick Wolfe, of Haughton, LA., and Rachel G. Leininger of Port Barre, 4 grandchildren, Geoffery Carr, Brandon Guidry, Chase Gaudet and Jacob Gaudet, 5 great grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Gaudet, her parents, Joseph Percy LeBlanc and Edna M. LeBlanc, brother, Dennis Mitchell LeBlanc, grandchildren, Heather A. Carr, Alex V. Leininger and seven infant children.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Prompt Succor Nursing Home, La. Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Richard Tate and Dr. Michael Burnell for all the care they provided for her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10:00 am until time of service.
