Emma, age 86, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2023.

Mrs. Emma worked side by side with her husband for 48 years, in their flooring business, L.J. Flooring Co. in Opelousas.

Our Mom was the sweetest, kindest, most caring and loving Mother a child could have ever hoped for.  Her smile radiated with warmth and love. She loved her family and cherished her children, grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren. She loved sewing, laughing, acting silly, and holidays with loved ones. She had empathy and compassion for everyone. She loved her country and prayed faithfully for it.  Mom was a prayer warrior, always praying for others day and night. Always reminding us to pray for her and Dad every day. She was excited to meet both of her soon to be grandchildren. Mom and Dad traveled the world their whole lives. Mamma lived a long beautiful, fulfilled life. She made the best of every situation that came her way. She always missed our sister Joan who passed away too soon. They are now together in Heaven. Her greatest love was our God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit! Mom’s life was lived for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family and loved ones.  We love you Mamma and will miss you forever!

To know Mawmaw was to love her. It was to love her thigh love-slaps, her soft arms and hands, her squeal of disapproval followed by laughter about it, her warm powdery smell, her love of all things purple, her delicious pecan cake and seafood gumbo, her red hair, her replaying Zachary Richard’s “Au bord du Lac Bijou” for us, her warm hugs, and so many sweet cheek kisses. And now, she lives on in our loveliest and funniest memories of her. Rest in love and peace, sweet Mawmaw. Love you forever 3. With love from all of your grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren!!!
