Else Richard

Grand Coteau- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mrs. Else Neugebauer Richard, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau; visitation will be held in the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mrs. Richard, age 90, a resident of Sunset, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Richard was born and raised in Germany. During World War II she met the love of her life, Alexson Richard, whom she then married and moved to the States with to start a family of their own. In her most recent years she enjoyed attending gatherings at the Thensted Center in Grand Coteau and Seniors Helping Seniors in Sunset. She also loved watching wrestling on T.V.; but most of all she cherished the time spent with her family. Mrs. Richard will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Richard and wife, Dianna of Sunset; daughter, Marianne Montet and husband, Jim of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Todd Richard, Erin Richard and significant other, Josh Rice, Simone Johnson and husband, Derek, all of Arnaudville, and Hollie Montet of Sunset; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Heath Johnson, and Madison Rice, all of Arnaudville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alexson Richard; son, Bill Richard; parents, Franz and Anna Neugebauer; and brothers, Walter and Otto Neugebauer.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Richard, Erin Richard, Hollie Montet, Derek Johnson, Josh Montet, and Jeramie Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Montet and Felton Soileau.
