LEONVILLE- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Elouise Marie Woodson on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Fr. will celebrate the mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum in Plaucheville, LA.
Elouise Marie Woodson, a beloved soul who graced the world with her warmth and kindness, was born on April 13, 1946, in Plaucheville, Louisiana. She left this world peacefully on October 17, 2024, at her residence in Opelousas, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Elouise was a woman of many passions and talents, finding joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations, a symbol of her nurturing spirit and devotion to those she loved.
In addition to her culinary skills, Elouise had a deep appreciation for reading and crafting. She found solace and inspiration in the pages of her favorite books. Her crafting endeavors allowed her to express her creativity, resulting in beautiful handmade gifts that will be treasured by those fortunate enough to receive them.
A lover of nature, Elouise held a special fondness for butterflies and flowers. These delicate wonders symbolized her gentle spirit and vibrant personality, reflecting her ability to find beauty in the simplest of things.
Elouise is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Harry Woodson; her daughter, Kimberly Woodson Fontenot and husband, John of Opelousas; her 2 grandchildren, Devin Fontenot and Seth Fontenot and his girlfriend, Kaylee James; and her great-grandson, Luca Fontenot.
Elouise is preceded in death by her parents, Hilman Lemoine and Dorsia Rabalais Lemoine; and her brother, Martin Lemoine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
