Elizabeth “Betty” Grace Shea Aymond departed this life on June 26, 2026 at 1:48 p.m. at AMG/ Park Place – Lafayette at the age of 83.

Betty was born to James and Margaret Jean Shea in Vancouver B.C. Canada. She became a US citizen on September 1, 1995.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She never hesitated to help others, often driving friends to doctors’ appointments or wherever they needed to go. Her caring nature and selflessness touched countless lives.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking meals for family and friends and was a seamstress for many years, creating beautiful pieces with her gifted hands. She enjoyed playing Pokeno, going to the movies, reading a good book, going to the casino, and sharing laughter with friends. Betty was also a fighter. She courageously battled breast cancer with strength, grace, and determination, inspiring those around her with her resilience and unwavering spirit.

She leaves behind a loving family, including 2 sons, Kent (Marianne), William “Billy” (Melissa), 1 daughter, Jeanne; 8 grandchildren, Seth, Bryson (Paige), Jana (Shane), Eli, Brittany (Connor), Derek (Cathy), Adam (Scarlet) and Lane (Ericka); 16 great-grandchildren, Emma, Fisher, Gavin, Jazmin, Trey, Tori, Drake, Chandler, Zia, Brianna, Rylee, Millie, Lenny, Coy, Beau and John Luka; and 1 great-great-grandson, Oliver. She was awaiting the arrival of her great-great-granddaughter, Harper, who will soon make her debut into the world and will forever be a cherished part of her legacy.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that her love, kindness, and the memories she created will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Betty was proceeded in death by her husband, Emile “Pedu” Aymond, her parents, James and Margaret Jean Shea, her-in-laws, Emile Sr. and Emiline Aymond; stepfather, Fred Vollman and her granddaughter, Kassi Leigh.

Pallbearers: Seth, Bryson, Gavin, Eli, Scotty, and Carlus. Honorary Pallbearers: Trey, Fisher, Drake, Chandler, Shane and Brent.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near.”
