OPELOUSAS- A Private Graveside Service will be held for Dwain Paul Pitre, Sr. at the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Deacon Ulysse Joubert will conduct the service.
Dwain, age 59, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Dwain enjoyed working on the pipeline and made many friends that turned into family during his time in the oil field. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tammy Dupre Pitre; son, Dwain “Paul” Pitre, Jr. and wife, Nichole; daughter, Dana Lynn Pitre and Hannah Lynn Pitre; brothers, Terry Pitre and Wayne Pitre and wife, Eva; sister, Patty Pitre; grandchildren, Emma Aline Pitre and Rebecca Lynn Pitre.
He is preceded in death by parents, Aldus Pitre and MaeFloyd “Mim” Bertrand Pitre; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Pitre, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bertrand; and father-in-law, Elvin Dupre.
Pallbearers will be Paul Pitre, Garrett Miller, Michael Miller, Rodger Touchstone, Dewey Vidrine and Carlton Faul. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Manuel and Tommy Bennett.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to his special friends and caretakers, Tommy and Mary Bennett, Art and Angela Pettigrew, Tim and Dedra Johnson, Tiffany and Tristan Bryant, Richard Manuel, Aaron Simon and Doug Warner.
