Opelousas-- A Mass of Christian Burial for  Dovic Joseph LeJeune will be on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Burial will follow in the LeJeune Cemetery in Mallett, La., Fr. Jude Theiry will officiate the Mass.

Dovic Joseph LeJeune, Jr., a beloved handyman known for his loving and caring personality, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. Born on January 15, 1964, in Opelousas, Dovic lightened the lives of many with his warm spirit and unwavering support.

He completed his education through the 12th grade and took pride in his work as a handyman, he utilized his skills to help others and become an integral part of his community. Dovic's dedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends, who cherished him deeply.

Dovic is survived by his loving sisters, Annette Fitzgerald of Livonia, and Susie Crawford of Georgia. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dovic Sr. and Eliza LeJeune; his brother, Wilfred LeJeune, Jr.; and sisters, Debra Ann Aucoin and Odelia "Tina" LeJeune. Their memories of Dovic will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Dovic Joseph LeJeune, Jr. leaves an indelible mark of kindness and warmth that will continue to resonate within his community and among his loved ones. He will be remembered not just for his skills but for the love he so freely shared with everyone around him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas from 5:00 p.m. to 9;00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited by Deacon Ulysse Joubert at 6:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. On Friday, October 4, 2024 the visitation will began at 8:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

Donations can be made to Sibille Funeral Home are to the family to help with cost of funeral bill.
