Opelousas-A Mass of Christian will be held for Donald “Paps” Stelly, at 12:00 pm, on Friday, October 30, 2026, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass of Christian.

Visitation will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 8:00 am until the time of service.

Donald “Paps” survived by his wife of 29 years, Asmah Dalimunthe Stelly of Lafayette, sons, Darrell Stelly of New Orleans, Gerald Stelly of Alabama, daughters, Courtney Roberts of New Orleans, Jessica Stelly of New Orleans, and Bridget Stelly of Lafayette, sister, Ettadene Stelly of Kaplan, grandchildren, Paul Hebert, Chloe Hebert, Caylee Hebert, Darrel Stelly, Jr., Miranda Stelly, Anthony Stelly and Anita Stelly, and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleopha and Beulah Stelly, son, Barry Stelly, two brothers, Ulysse Stelly and Jimmy Stelly.

Donald loved playing music, singing and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed watching western movies and wearing cowboy clothes.
