Port Barre-Funeral service will be held for Donald Ray Richard at 4:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Benji Richard will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held on Monday in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre from10:00 am un till time of service.

Donald, born on October 21, 1945, in Jennings, Louisiana, passed away on August 6, 2026, at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Donald’s journey began in the warmth of Jennings, where he spent his formative years. Though the details of his early life and later activities are not specified here, Donald’s presence touched those who had the privilege to know him. His life bridged over eight decades of change and growth, witnessing eras that shaped both his personal path and the community around him.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Richard and his wife Terri of Livingston, La. and Ronald Richard of Port Barre, daughters, Katy Fruge and her husband, Joey of Opelousas, and Tammy Dalton of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, brothers, Leo Richard of Port Barre, Tony Richard, of Haughton, La., sisters, Betty Scott of Picayune, Miss. and Audrey Blaisdell and her husband, Kim of Paducah, Kentucky, eight grandchildren Robyn, Derek, Michael, Megan, Amber, Seth, Landon, and Jeremy, and his dog, Baby Girl.

He is precede in death by his wife, Ella Dowling Richard, his parents, Leo and Jesslyn Richard, Sr., his brothers, Harold Richard and Tommy Richard, daughter-in-law, Stacey Richard.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Morvant, Derek Richard, Jeremy Harper, Sean Thomas, Seth Fruge, and Landon Fruge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Richard, Jr., and Steven Richard.
