Denise Gremillion

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Denise Gremillion on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the Lejeune Family Cemetery in Lawtell.

Mrs. Denise, a resident of Eunice, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the age of 65, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Denise will be remembered as a kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always happy and was known for her witty sense of humor. To know her was to love her and she was always a great person to be around. Denise was a devout catholic and a faithful parishioner. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family and making everlasting memories. Denise will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Denise is survived by her husband of 22 years, Brent Gremillion of Opelousas; son, Carey Cortez of Kansas; daughter, Brandi Tate and husband, Jordan of Eunice; brother, Jimmy Stelly and wife, Krista of Mallet; sister, Sheryl Gautreaux and husband, Merrick Jr. of Opelousas; grandchildren, Caiden Bellow, Carson Bellow, Dominic Tate, Joseph Orlett, Sierra Cortez, Gabriel Cortez, Zolana Cortez and Yajari Cortez; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zyaire Johnson and Leilani Johnson.

Mrs. Denise is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Stelly and Rena Lejeune Stelly; 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bellow, Bailey Bellow and Brooklyn Bellow; and 1 great-grandson, Kingston Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Anton Harman, Jack Woodson, Gabriel Cortez, Jordan Tate, Aiden Stelly and Alex Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Caiden Bellow, Carson Bellow and Jimmy Stelly.
