Debra Collins

Grand Coteau- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Debra Ann Smith Collins, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Reverend Clyde LeBlanc, S.J.S will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Debra, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Jessie J. Collins, Jr., Ferris Collins and Mitchell Collins; daughters, Alena Collins, Da'Shonda Collins Gobert, Alexis Collins, Debra T. Collins and Valencia Collins; brothers, Joseph Smith and Gabriel Smith; sisters, Leona Smith Joseph, Annie Mae Smith Domingeaux, Selena Smith Thibodeaux and Mary Ann Smith Ledet; grandchildren, Ke'Shawn Collins, Ke'awn Collins, Derrick M. Gobert, Jr., Nyla Gobert, Alaya Gobert and Darnell Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lena Smith; brother, Merlin Smith; and sister, Brenda Smith Davis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be prayed by Deacon Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening. The funeral home will reopen for visitation on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
